NTCC to host job fair

²ÝÁñÉçÇø (NTCC) will host a job fair on Tuesday, September 23 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building (SUB) on the main NTCC campus. The event is free to the public. More than a dozen local and regional employers will be in attendance.

Kelli Knepp receives Chitsey Prize

Kelli Knepp, a sophomore honors scholar at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, was recently named the 2014 recipient of the $200 Chitsey Prize. This yearly prize is given in memory of Elizabeth Chitsey, whose daughters and grandchildren have had a far-reaching effect on ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas as educators and supporters of regional education on all levels.

The prize is unique in its efforts to identify a rising young scholar.

NTCC evening police academy holds commencement ceremony

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Evening Police Academy recently held a commencement ceremony. The graduates, who all passed their Texas Commission on Law Enforcement (TCOLE) exam and are now eligible to be licensed peace officers, are pictured above. NTCC receives endowed scholarship in memory of Joe Don Mashburn

Joe Don Mashburn spent his entire life working in agriculture and a group of friends, family and colleagues are keeping his memory alive by sharing his passion with future generations of farmers and ranchers. Texas Heritage National Bank recently created a $25,000 endowed scholarship fund at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø to provide financial support for students in the NTCC Work Scholarship Program.

Men's soccer remains undefeated, ranked 10th in the nation

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø (NTCC) Men?s Eagles Soccer team†kept their†undefeated record intact after†knocking off both Eastern Oklahoma State College and Murray State College this†past†week. The team was named tenth in the nation by the National Soccer Coaches Association of America in the September 2 poll.

Women's soccer kicks off season with a win



The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø (NTCC) Women?s Eagles Soccer team kicked off their season with a win this week defeating Eastern Oklahoma State College 3-1 on Wednesday.

Eastern Oklahoma put their first and only point on the board at 15-minutes into the first half. Ruth Rosales scored the first goal for the Eagles 15 minutes later and Michelle Butron assisted McKenzia Goedicke, pulling the Eagles into the lead 40 minutes into the game.

How can one best answer that enduring question: where are you from? How is ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas unique?† Does where we live even matter?

These and other questions will be at stake at the Seventh Annual ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas Poetry Reading on Friday, Sept. 5 at 11 a.m. in†the foyer of the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø.†The public is welcome to attend this free event.

The Reading will feature readings from the six winners of the 2014 ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas Poetry competition.

NTCC men's soccer beats top-ranked teams in Florida tourney

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø (NTCC) men?s Eagles Soccer team carried their record-breaking momentum from last year into their first regular season games this weekend defeating both nationally ranked Eastern Florida State College and Mississippi Gulf Coast College in a mini tournament at Pensacola, Florida.

Freshman Yannick Koffi put the first point on the board for the Eagles 12 minutes into the game against 5th ranked Eastern Florida State with assistance from Rodrigo Gonzalez.
