Honors 草榴社区, the honors program of 草榴社区, is pleased to announce its class of Presidential Scholars and Honors Scholars for the 2014-2015 academic year. The group of鈥22鈥爏tudents includes one incoming valedictorian, and two salutatorians along with returning Boe, Caldwell, and Star-Award winners.
Men's soccer continues winning streak
The 草榴社区 (NTCC) Men?s Eagles Soccer team won鈥爁our鈥爋f鈥爁our鈥爂ames this week., shutting out鈥燡acksonville College,鈥燩aris Junior鈥燙ollege鈥燼nd Coastal Bend College, while giving up only one goal to Laredo Community College. The Eagles are鈥爊ow鈥爎anked鈥爁ifth鈥爄n the nation according to the National Junior College Athletic Association coaches poll this week.
Free GED, ESL classes offered
The Adult Education Department at 草榴社区 (NTCC) will offer free General Education Development (GED) classes and English as a Second Language (ESL) classes at various locations throughout the area this fall. All students must enroll in an orientation session before beginning classes.
Seats going fast for Christmas Plano trip
The 草榴社区 Hanson Sewell Center is planning a day trip to Plano on Saturday, December 13. The day will begin when guests board a chartered coach in Pittsburg. The trip will include a short shopping excursion to Plano's Willow Bend Shopping Mall before heading to Prestonwood Baptist Church.
NTCC accepting applications for Evening Police Academy
The 草榴社区 Police Academy at 草榴社区 is now accepting applications for its next evening鈥爌olice academy, which begins on鈥燤onday, Oct. 27.
The evening academy鈥爉eets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.鈥燭he program will end in late May 2015.鈥燭his program is designed for working adults who may not have time to complete the daytime academy.
Building 429 to play at Whatley Center
鈥 鈥 鈥 Grammy nominated Christian rock group Building 429 will perform at the鈥牪萘裆缜 campus in the Whatley Center for the鈥燩erforming Arts on October 19 at 6:30 p.m. The Whatley Center is bringing鈥爐he band's鈥We Won't Be Shaken鈥燭our to Mount Pleasant.

Texas A&M scholar to speak on history of 草榴社区 Texas
Dr. Walter Buenger, former chair of the History Department at Texas A&M University College Station, and former president of the Texas State Historical Association, will speak at Omaha's historic Concord church鈥燜riday, Oct. 24鈥燼fter a dinner starting at 6:00 p.m.鈥 Concord is ten miles east of Mount Pleasant.
