TRMC Auxiliary gives $4,500 for NTCC scholarships

The Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Auxiliary recently presented the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation with $4,500, which will provide six $750 scholarships to benefit students at NTCC majoring in an allied health field. Vocational Nursing program celebrates graduates

The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Health Sciences division recently hosted a pinning ceremony to celebrate students completing coursework in Vocational Nursing. Twelve students completed the program and are now eligible to sit for state boards to become a Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN). New Personal Training Certification offered

²ÝÁñÉçÇø is now accepting applications for a Personal Training Certification program designed by and instructed by Dr. Tom Seabourne, NTCC Professor of Physical Education. Classes begin September 21 and run through October 23.



This 15-hour course is a comprehensive, research-based program†designed to provide students with all of the skills required to become a personal trainer.

Job fair planned for Sept. 22

²ÝÁñÉçÇø (NTCC) will host a job fair on Tuesday, September 22 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Student Union Building (SUB) on the main NTCC campus. The event is free to the public. Hiring managers and other representatives from†local and regional employers will be in attendance.†Prospective employees are encouraged to dress professionally and bring plenty of resumes to distribute to potential employers. Booth space is still available for businesses.

Natural Sciences Chair brings international perspective to NTCC

Christine Houser, MPhil, MD, and the new Chair of the Division of Natural Sciences and professor of biology and psychology, comes to the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø campus from Europe. She most recently worked as a researcher for the Royal Infirmary in Edinburgh, Scotland and as a professor of psychology at Webster University Leiden campus, The Netherlands.
