NTCC plans GED, ESL registration
Do you know someone who is interested in learning English or completing their GED (General Education Development)? The Adult Education Program at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø offers free GED and ESL (English as a Second Language) classes at a variety of convenient locations. Registration for all locations will be held at the Community Resource Center (formerly MPISD Administration Building) at 105 N. Riddle Street on the following dates: August 9, 11, 15 and 17.

Honors ²ÝÁñÉçÇø seeks entries for poetry contest
²ÝÁñÉçÇø and Honors ²ÝÁñÉçÇø†recently†announced a call for original poems to enter the ninth†annual ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas Poetry Contest. The judges will be looking for poems that can accent or enliven our sense of the surroundings, people, the culture, and/or the history of ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Texas. Adult winners will take home $200 for first place and $50 for second place. Full-time student winners will receive $400 for first place, $300 for second, $200 for third, and $100 for fourth. All ages are welcome to enter the contest. Any genre of poem, and at any length, can compete.

NTCC closed July 4
²ÝÁñÉçÇø will be closed Monday, July 4 in observance of the Independence Day holiday. We will resume regular business hours Tuesday, July 5. In case of an emergency on campus during a closure, please call security at 903-434-8127.
Paula Wilhite named June Caught In Action recipient
Congratulations to Paula Wilhite, the June recipient of NTCC's Wellness Caught in Action honor! She recently completed the Dallas Multiple Myeloma 5K with her grandson as a 10-year survivor.

Perryman gives to NTCC Work Scholarship Program
The ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation recently received a $1,500 gift from Richard Perryman to support the NTCC Work Scholarship Program. Perryman (right) is pictured presenting the gift to Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement. The NTCC Work Scholarship Program gives students the opportunity to work during the summer to earn funds to pay for college for the upcoming year. The goal of the program is to foster a strong work ethic while allowing students to avoid student debt.
