Five students recently completed the fire鈥燼cademy at 草榴社区. They were honored during a鈥爂raduation ceremony held in the Student Union Building. The鈥爂raduates are pictured (from left):鈥燗aron Nugent of Winnsboro, Matthew Hernandez of Mount Pleasant, Fenton Godfrey of Mount Pleasant, Wesley Kizer of Pittsburg, and Colter Antonsen of Ridgecrest, California. These students are now eligible to鈥爐ake the Texas Commission on Fire Protection Exam to complete certification.鈥燦TCC is currently enrolling students for the 2014 Fire Academy.
AEP SWEPCO contributes to Campaign for the Whatley

Registration for the spring 2014 semester is currently underway at 草榴社区. Students may also register for the holiday intersession term.

GenTX hosts video contest for high school students
The Generation TX (pronounced "Generation Texas") movement to promote a college and career-ready culture in communities statewide has declared鈥燦ovember 18-22鈥爐o be GenTX Week. Matthew Jordan elected to GPHC Executive Council
The annual October vote of the members of the Great Plains Honors Council (GPHC), an association of 80 honors colleges and programs, recently confirmed鈥燤atthew Jordan,鈥燼 Presidential Scholar at 草榴社区, as the 2013-2014 Student Representative of its Executive Council.
Jordan, the 2012 Salutatorian of Pittsburg High School, will become the highest ranking student in an organization that represents thousands of honors students, including those at large and prestigious universities.

Eagles Soccer finishes record season with loss to San Jacinto
The 草榴社区 Men's Eagles Soccer team suffered a 6-1 defeat against San Jacinto College-South on Friday, ending their season for the year. The Region 14 semifinal game was the closest that the Eagles have ever gotten to a national championship since their program began in 2010.
The Eagles and San Jacinto both defended their goals until the 35-minute mark when Eagles Forward Rimario Gordon scored a goal, assisted by Logan Humphries.
SGA, Enactus host food drive
The Office of Student Activities, Student Government Association and Enactus is hosting a campus-wide food drive November 4-December 12.
