Tonya Taylor gives memorial nursing scholarships
Tonya Taylor, Assistant Professor of Nursing at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø, recently gave $1,200 to the NTCC Foundation to provide two scholarships for nursing students. The gift was given in memory of Margie Bragg, an NTCC Nursing graduate from Mount Pleasant who worked in the field for many years. Taylor noted that she hopes the scholarships will help carry on the caring spirit Bragg gave every day. Taylor is pictured above with Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Vice President for Advancement.
Two NTCC students win $5,000 Pearson Scholarship
²ÝÁñÉçÇø recently learned that two members of its Phi Theta Kappa Alpha Mu Chi chapter were awarded the 2015 Pearson Scholarship for Higher Education. Both Isaac Burris and Mary Smith will receive the $5,000 scholarship to assist in the completion of their bachelor degrees.

NTCC closed on Labor Day
²ÝÁñÉçÇø will be closed on Monday, Sept. 7 in observance of the Labor Day holiday. Classes and offices will resume regular schedules on Tuesday, Sept. 8. In case of an emergency on campus during the closure, please contact campus security at 903-563-1417.
PTK members win awards over summer
It may have been summer, but that didn't stop the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Alpha Mu Chi chapter of Phi Theta Kappa from staying busy and racking up on new awards and honors. This included participating in the 2015 Texas Honors Institute†earlier this month.â€

Morgan Capps wins Chitsey Prize
Presidential Scholar Morgan Capps is the 2015 winner of the $200 Elizabeth Chitsey Prize given annually to a student at Honors ²ÝÁñÉçÇø whose performance in the preceding year far exceeded expectations.
Registration delays due to software conversion
²ÝÁñÉçÇø is gearing up for the fall semester, which begins Monday, Aug. 24. Due to issues stemming from a recent student information software conversion, online registration is currently unavailable and students will find wait times to be longer than usual.
"When a college replaces its administrative software systems, there are always challenges. Our staff is doing everything they can to ensure that each student is taken care of," Dr. Brad Johnson, NTCC President, said. "Unfortunately, the process will take longer than usual this semester.

NTCC offers Saturday registration Aug. 22
²ÝÁñÉçÇø will be open from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturday, Aug. 22 to assist students with finalizing registration for the Fall 2015 semester. Students who have already begun the registration process will have the opportunity to meet with academic advisors, make payments and receive help with financial aid.
