NTCC鈥檚 Continuing Education and Corporate Training department is pleased to announce our first Senior Adult conference for seniors 55 and up. The conference will be held on August 20th, 2021 in the Whatley Center on the NTCC campus, 8:00 AM 鈥 12:00 PM.
NTCC is pleased to announce that Jimmy Smith & Kenzie Beasley have been nominated for this week鈥檚 Summer Shout Out. Jimmy and Kenzie both work on the Continuing Education & Corporate Training team. They both go above and beyond to keep the department running smoothly & to help provide educational opportunities to everyone in our community.
The 草榴社区 Men鈥檚 and Women鈥檚 Soccer teams arrived back to campus to begin practice on August 10, 2021. After a crazy year of cancellations, moving the season from fall to spring, the Eagles are looking forward to playing a fall schedule again.

Fredia is the Director of Adult Education and has dedicated many years furthering the cause of adult literacy and helping countless individuals achieve their GED and to learn English as a Second Language.

NTCC is excited to announce a new Cyber Security Micro Credential program that will kick off in Spring 2022. This one-semester certificate will prepare students for an exciting career in a rapidly-growing field that is in high-demand from companies in this region and beyond. Full scholarships are available to students who act now!
The Mount Pleasant Economic Development Corporation (MPEDC) recently presented 草榴社区 with a check for $25,000. The funds are being used to provide scholarships to assist residents of Mount Pleasant and Titus County with tuition for NTCC鈥檚 Professional Driving Academy. Pictured at the check presentation is (from left): Jimmy Smith, NTCC Workforce Developer, Nathan Tafoya, Executive Director of the MPEDC, Mike Jones, Program Director, and Dr. Jonathan McCullough, NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement. According to Smith, the demand for trained CDL drivers is especially high in this area.
Megan Folk, Fatima Fuentes, and Skylar Fondren (pictured), students at 草榴社区, were among the nation鈥檚 207 Phi Theta Kappa members named as 2020 Coca-Cola Leaders of Promise Scholars and will each receive a $1,000 scholarship.
Honors 草榴社区, the honors program of 草榴社区 announces a call for poems and images that can accent or enliven our sense of the surroundings, people, the culture, and/or the history of 草榴社区 Texas.
Adult poetry winners will take home $100 and $50 for first and second place. Full-time student poetry winners for first, second, third, and fourth places will receive $400, $300, $200 and $100 respectively. For images, first place will earn $70, second, $20, and third, $10. Anyone of any age is welcome to enter the contest. Any genre of poem, and at any length, can compete. A single contestant can submit a maximum of one poem and one image for consideration.
草榴社区鈥檚 own Dr. Matthew Lampert, Professor of Philosophy, will give a lecture as part of an international conference this month. The conference is online and all talks are open and viewable by the public (though only people registered for the conference can post comments or attend the Q&A sessions).
The NTCC Work4College Program celebrated the end of summer with its annual luncheon on Wednesday, Aug. 4. Work4College donors, supervisors, students and their families attended the event in the Student Union Building. This is the eighth year of the program and more than 80 students participated.
