Honors ²ÝÁñÉçÇø wraps filming for fifth movie

The scholars of Honors ²ÝÁñÉçÇø completed filming their fifth feature-length movie last week in Nacogdoches.†The subject of this year?s film was the end of the Texas Cherokee and the transformation of Sam Houston. The project was researched, written, directed, acted and produced by students in the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø honors program with the support of faculty, staff and community members.

20th Century Study Club of Pittsburg gives to Work Scholarship Program

The 20th Century Study Club of Pittsburg recently gave $1,000 to help sponsor a student in the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Work Scholarship Program. Glenn and Judy Weiss give matched gift for NTCC Morris County scholarships

Glenn and Judy Weiss of Daingerfield recently gave $750 to fund scholarships for Morris County students at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø. The gift was matched by the Chevron Corporation, the company Glenn retired from, to make a total scholarship of $1,500. There are many companies that have programs for matching charitable giving by employees and retirees.

Lowe's employees lend a hand at NTCC

Team members from Lowe?s store 1802 in Mount Pleasant stopped by the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø campus this week to lend a hand with painting classrooms. Supplies for the renovation came from Lowe?s and the store donated community service time to help complete the project in time for the fall semester. Carol Hodges supports NTCC Work Scholarship Program

Carol Hodges, owner of The Design Factory in Hughes Springs, recently gave a $500 gift to the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Work Scholarship Program in memory of her late husband Bruce Hodges.

The Work Scholarship Program wrapped up its third summer this week, with around 40 students participating. The program gives hard-working students the opportunity to earn money to pay for their education at NTCC.

TRMC Auxiliary gives six NTCC scholarships

The Titus Regional Medical Center (TRMC) Auxiliary recently presented the ²ÝÁñÉçÇø Foundation with $4,500, which will provide six $750 scholarships to benefit students at NTCC majoring in a health sciences field. Texas Heritage National Bank gives NTCC Presidential Scholarship

Texas Heritage National Bank recently presented a Presidential Scholarship to Emmalea Shaw, a sophomore at ²ÝÁñÉçÇø.†The gift will cover Shaw?s academic expenses at NTCC for the 2016-2017 academic year.†This is the first privately-funded†gift of its kind†that Honors ²ÝÁñÉçÇø has received.

Shaw had a stellar first year at NTCC. She won a third-place $150 Caldwell Award from the State of Texas, and a $200 poetry award.
