Gib Wilson gives $2,000 for NTCC scholarships

Gib Wilson, owner of Wilson Farms, recently gave $2,000 to the 草榴社区 Foundation. Dr. Jonathan McCullough (right), NTCC Executive Vice President for Advancement, is pictured receiving the donation from Wilson (left). The gift was designated for an endowed scholarship fund. Thanks to another matching grant, the contribution will result in $4,000 in scholarships to help NTCC students achieve their educational goals.

NTCC to launch new website Nov. 19

We are excited to announce that NTCC will be launching a new website on Monday, Nov. 19. Not only will the site have a new look, but it will also be more compatible with mobile devices for an easier browsing experience. While all of the content from our current site will remain on the new one, you will find that the menu structures have changed.

Men鈥檚 soccer to play first national tourney game Tuesday

The NTCC Eagles men鈥檚 soccer team is headed to Daytona, Florida to play in the NJCAA National Tournament. The seeding for the tournament was released Wednesday with the Eagles seeded #8 in the tournament. The Eagles will be in Pool A along with #1 seed Pima and #12 seed Muskegon College. First game for the Eagles will be Tuesday November 13that 9:30 AM against Muskegon College. Second pool game will take place on Wednesday November 14th9:30 AM against Pima.

Alpha Mu Chi members visit PTK headquarters

Members from NTCC鈥檚 chapter of Phi Theta Kappa, Alpha Mu Chi, visited PTK Headquarters in Jackson, Mississippi, October 26. The group spent the day touring the Center for Excellence, meeting headquarters staff, learning more about PTK scholarships and programming, and seeing the beautiful building which serves as headquarters for the International Honor Society. The Center for Excellence is modeled after Thomas Jefferson鈥檚 Monticello.

Rhylie Anderson presents at Western Historical Association

Rhylie Anderson participated in the 58th Annual Western Historical Association held at the Hyatt Regency in San Antonio, October 17-20. The conference theme was 鈥淩e-Imaging Race and Ethnicity in the West.鈥

While there, Rhylie presented a poster on her work on African-American leaders in Texas after the Civil War. Her work appeared alongside that of scholars from colleges such as Stanford University and Montana State University.
