Student Achievement

Students within the biology program have numerous achievements including but not limited to acceptance into nursing programs, dental hygiene programs, physical therapy assistance programs, medical laboratory technology programs or transfer to university programs.  Scores of students who began their college biology studies at NTCC have graduated from medical, dental, optometry, chiropractic, physician assistant, and physical therapy professional schools in Texas and throughout the nation.  

Students engaged in the Biology Cooperative courses have presented their research at the Southwest Association of Parasitologists in Kingston, OK., and several publications have resulted from research conducted in these courses.

Students within the honors biology program have presented their work at the Great Plains Regional Honors Council and the National Collegiate Honors Council Conventions.  NTCC biology students have been accepted to and participated in prestigious summer internships programs at Boston University, Baylor College of Medicine, and Johns Hopkins Medical School.
