Police academies begin Jan. 19
The 草榴社区 Police Academy at 草榴社区 is now accepting applications for its upcoming police academies. Both the Fast-Track day and evening academy programs will begin classes January 19.
The evening academy, which is for continuing education credit only, meets from 5-10 p.m. Monday through Thursday and every first and third Saturday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
BT building closed Dec. 14-17 for training
During the week of December 14-17, the 草榴社区 Police Academy will be hosting an Advanced Law Enforcement Rapid Response Training (ALERRT) course. 鈥燭his will require the use of the entire Business Technology Building for both the lecture and tactical experience. 鈥燭herefore, the BT building will be unavailable to the general public.

Firefighter Academy accepting applications
草榴社区 is now accepting applications for its upcoming Firefighter Academy. The program begins January 11 and runs through June 30. 鈥燬tudents will meet鈥燤onday鈥爐hrough Thursday鈥爀venings at the Central Fire Station in Mount Pleasant and alternating Saturdays.鈥
NTCC alumni using his degree for good in Mount Pleasant
Chaz Curtis is keeping a promise to his college professors. He's taking what he learned at 草榴社区 and successfully applying it to the business world.
The NTCC alumnus is the office manager at Super 1 Foods and is on track to become a funeral director in Mount Pleasant. Curtis earned an associate's degree in Business Administration in 2012 and went on to earn his bachelor's degree on the same campus through NTCC's partnership with Texas A&M Texarkana.

NTCC closed Nov. 25-27 for Thanksgiving
NTCC offices will be closed and classes will not meet Wednesday, Nov. 25 through Friday, Nov. 27 in observance of the Thanksgiving Holiday.
Fulgham named 2016 PTK Faculty Scholar
Dr. Melissa Fulgham, 草榴社区 Associate Professor of History and Division Chair of Social Sciences, was recently chosen to serve as a 2016 Phi Theta Kappa Faculty Scholar.鈥燜ulgham鈥爓as among only 30 Phi Theta鈥燢appa advisors globally鈥燾hosen for this honor. The scholars were selected through a rigorous application process based on knowledge of the 2015/2016 Honors Study Topic,鈥How The World Works: Global Perspectives, and demonstrated excellence in鈥爐eaching or administration.
Intersession, spring 2016 registration open
Registration for the spring 2016 semester is currently underway at 草榴社区. Students may also register for the holiday intersession term.

Theatre 草榴社区 to perform annual children's play
Theatre 草榴社区 will present the new children?s classic play,鈥Gooney Bird Greene and Her True Life Adventures鈥燚ecember 5 at 7:30 p.m. and December 6 at 2:05 p.m. in the Whatley Center for the Performing Arts on the 草榴社区 campus.

NTCC hosts annual College Night
The Annual College Night, sponsored by 草榴社区, is set for Wednesday, Nov. 18 in the Student Union Building at NTCC.
Colleges and universities will have representatives on hand from 6:30-8:00 p.m. to provide admissions and financial aid information to students and their parents.

This year NTCC honors the 31-year-service of Judy Jackson, the first employee hired when the college was formed.鈥燡udy's role changed over the鈥爕ears鈥燼s the college grew from an infant organization into the dynamic, far-reaching institution that it is today.
