Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant winners announced

The 草榴社区 Foundation is pleased to announce that eight NTCC employees have been awarded funds through the 2023 Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant. The Foundation received 16 outstanding applications. A total of $13,039.99 was awarded through the grant or by additional private donors.

The Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant was established by James & Elizabeth Whatley specifically to fund special projects and enhance educational opportunities that fall outside the institution鈥檚 regular budget.  Each year, NTCC full-time employees may apply for the available funding. Projects are reviewed and selected by the volunteer members of the Whatley Employee Enhancement Committee.

鈥淓ach year we are impressed with the quality of applications we receive for the Whatley Employee Enhancement Grant,鈥 Nita May, NTCC Director of Development, said. 鈥淲e look forward to seeing these projects come to fruition over the coming year.鈥

This year鈥檚 Whatley Employee Enhancement recipients are:

  • Heather Hughes, Communities in Schools 鈥 CAPPED@NTCC - $2,200
  • Doug Richey, Mathematics, Physics and Engineering 鈥 Engineering Round Table Project - $2,000
  • Savannah Toews, Funeral Science 鈥 Hands-On Trauma Repair Cadaver Lab Workshop - $3,000
  • Carol Vandiver, Adult Education & Literacy (AEL) Program 鈥 Career Exploration and Connections: My Career, My Future - $1,400
